First critical checklist Croatian Orthoptera
Recently a critical review of all data on Croatian Orthoptera has been published in Zootaxa. In the 95 page publication 184 species are listed from this country. For each species the distribution in Croatia and Europe is given and the source for the first record. 25 species reported in historical papers were omitted from the national list and some new synonymies are presented: Pholidoptera maritima and P. brachynota are synonymous with P. dalmatica, Chrysochraon dispar intermedius with C. d. giganteus, Gampsocleis abbreviata renei with G. a. abbreviata and Acrida mediterranea with A. ungarica.
